Alessandra Dieffe
Biography
Alessandra Dieffe is the pseudonym that this emerging artist has chosen to enter and establish herself in the world of art. She graduated in Sociology from the Faculty of Education of Urbino, with a major in History and Criticism of cinema and in 1988 she attended a drawing course with the painter Sandro Visca to develop her innate predisposition to art. She continued honing her skills as self-thaught artist until she discovered the creative possibilities of new media art, including digital art, thanks to a master at the University of Florence. Through new media art, she wants to propose a universe of images mainly linked to cinema. The artist’s artworks have participated in various collective exhibitions as Arte Laguna Prize 16.17, the Biennale dei Normanni in Monreale, 2020, XIII Florence Biennale, 2021 and have published her artworks in many catalogues of art. She won the first prize (front cover) in the book project aand contest “Excellent Art 2022” by curator and editor G. Walter.
What’s your background?
I live in Italy, in Pescara, I got a degree in Urbino, I got a master in Florence.
I’m a self-taught artist. I like drawing a lot with pencil and on my iPad. I like new media art, particularly the digital art. This media allows me to express better my imagination.
What does it mean to you to win the Collectors Art Prize?
It’s a good sensation. It’s gratifying and amazing.
What do you think is the role of art in the world today?
Art is the expression of interiority and creativity of human being. It conveys positivity therefore it is necessary. Today its role has become indispensable.
What would it be if you could change one thing about the art world?
I don’t know what to say. I don’t know enough about it. Maybe increased professionalism and seriousness on the part of curators, art prizes’ organizers, gallerists.
What are the most significant professional achievements?
Everything I’ve done so far represents a significant achievement. The participation at Arte Laguna Prize 16.17 remains, however, the most significant professional achievement, what I affectionate the most.
What do you wish to tell viewers about your work that might not come explicity?
What is implicit in my works can emerge if you are driven by curiosity, by the desire to know or deepen what I’m referring, to which I take inspiration to process my images. I hope so to arouse, first of all, curiosity.
What advice would you give to the upcoming generation of artists?
I don’t know. I still feel like an emerging artist.
I try to give this advice: “Go on whether it’s worth it.”
In what direction would you like to see your career go in the next five years?
In my dream I can see art fairs, solo shows, selling artworks and becoming a full time artist.
