What’s your back ground?
I am a visual artist creating my art in few mediums of the arts like sculpture, drawing, painting, prints, photography & video art.
What does it mean to you to win the Collectors Art Prize?
This Prize means an important recognition of art Professionals & experts regarding my artworks.
What do you think is the role of art in the world today?
I think Art can contribute new different perspectives & insights about the human existence in our time, its condition & experiences. To explore & react towards central issues, values, ideas & opinions regarding what can be examined & be reviewed in our post modern societies. The task of communicating & reflecting the new postmodern development in all fields (In the field of Hi-Tech developments, The Bio- Tech ,Medical Developments) are just few of the frontiers that Art & artists can contributes their insights.
What would it be if you could change one thing about the art world?
The Art world is having its own standards & values. It is, in some ways a materialistic world that is valuating artworks as products. Usually completely ignoring the Artist’s life & the long processes of creation. The correlation between the two might be the thing to be changed.
What are your most significant professional achievements?
My Significant professional achievement until now is mainly the series of artworks based on the “checkered eye” idea- theme, which I have developed & created in the series of paintings (The Back-Yard Paintings, The “Powder Drawings” series, The “ Screens” Series Paintings) mix media artworks & video art works, as well as the more recent series of photographs “The Hieroglyphics of light” series which I am presenting in the Exhibition of the Collectors Art Prize 2023. But there are more future Projects on which I am working now that are still in the process of creating.
What do you wish to tell viewers about your work that might not come out explicitly? What do you hope to inspire with your artwork?
My preferred visual language can be defined mostly as abstract & minimalist with a tendency to conceptual art, through which my artworks tend to reflect the acknowledgment of the human & nature fragility & its temporarily of existence. Imagination & deep observation into the most common might inspire & revile new insights in my viewer’s eyes.
What advice would you give to the up coming generation of artists?
My advice is to be persistent, sensitive & always listen to the inner voice, without trying to create works in accordance to the popular taste, in any terms.
In what direction would you like to see your career go in the next five years?
I am always investigating my own path & direction, not planning too much, and just trying to be as reflexive & sensitive to the world that surrounds me. I would like to exhibit a solo exhibition in which I will conclude the two main themes I have investigated so far.
