Biography

Paul Hartel has enjoyed representation and exhibitions with art galleries and art fairs in New York City, Los Angeles, Dublin, Milan, Madrid and Barcelona with works currently in residence at Green Gallery, Dublin, Ireland. Hartel’s works have been sold, auctioned and commissioned for private collectors and corporations and gifted for auction with charities, in the U.S.A., Europe and Australia. Hartel has been featured in many art publications and magazines, cover art, and online galleries.
I think of my work as celebrating the spirit of the ‘inner child’ through an improvisationally eviscerated energy. I strive to create a visual immediacy that may be combatively intense, keeping the viewer’s eye in perpetual motion. I like to conceptualise my work as a bridge between fantasy and abstract reality that I hope challenges our thoughts, perceptions, follies and wits. This union of interactive physical and psychological senses, whether harmonious or divergent, hopefully engenders a gestalt with the viewer and artwork that transcends each.
