Biography

Painting is like dancing on a canvas
Veronika Slívová

The most beautiful music rings out her brushes and she gets into a whirlwind of dancing colours.
It's a way where no words are needed, they would only break the harmony and magic of this expression.
You are the one who sets the direction and the grace and no one else.
You are here and now and you create.
For joy, for fulfillment, for love and for you.

.
As an emotional painter, she works with the inner world that is reflected in each of us. Her painting is telling a story and convey words that are giving a message. As an emotional creator playing with his thoughts, showing them proudly to the world, she combines visual and mental perception. The image is the total of all sensations, so it remains forever. She wants to merge everything into one. Forever.
Creating intuitively was most enjoyed with a combination of acrylic paint, spatulas and brushes, letting the music and thoughts come together on the canvas, where the unexpected becomes the expected or surprising. Ideas after ideas assemble images like a puzzle. Sometimes the painting is accompanied by poetry or words that have found their own way, this is when the canvas speaks to her
She is a human being, a creator who communicates a message through colours and words. She likes to explore everything in depth, working with inner feelings and looking for answers to questions. The forest is her oasis, here she finds her inner peace. It is where her inspiration awakens, her connection with nature, it is where she finds answers to her questions. Music helps to tune the energies and then she transfers them to the canvas, to be in harmony with her surroundings, to be at peace and content.  She usually lets herself be carried away by the music, choosing colours intuitively.
Meditation music can also connect her to inspiration. She comes here for ideas, thoughts. Here she creates virtual images which are later transfered onto canvases. She is then motivated and driven by various artistic competitions and challenges. She likes to create based on a certain theme that makes her think, to go into the depth of things. To explore her feelings, to create ideas and to connect painting with words. There are no particular goals in painting because they are infinite. There is always something to learn, something to pass on and something to work on. She wants to be able to process thoughts and emotions so that others can see through the colored canvases.

Try to stop for a moment and listen to the colours.
You see colours that speak to you and communicate more than what is on the surface.
Try to see things differently, try to question yourself.
What are your feelings and how do words and images affect you ?
Maybe then you will see the world differently, a world that will make your thoughts dance.

What’s your background?

Even as a child, I longed to become a painter. I attended drawing classes and started by drawing with a pencil. I drew faces, figures and flowers. Then i drew with charcoal. It was always something specific like a figure, everything that can be seen in this world. As a child, what you see you try to imitate and draw as best as you can.

I started abstract painting in 2019 after studying at the Spiritual Academy. In order to create abstract art, one has to mature in some way, understand their inner world, connect to it and draw from it and transfer that energy on the canvas. For me, it is still connected not only to painting, but also with words like poetry, which often complements the painting, giving it a personal message. It is my way of communicating with the outside world.

What does it mean to you to win the Collectors Art Prize?

For me, it is the joy of feeling that my words and images have found a connection, and a way into the hearts of art lovers. It's the excitement of being able to share my innermost feelings with people and using colors to share them with all people.

What do you think is the role of art in the world today?

To connect the colorful worlds of us artists with the worlds of art lovers, to guide and show them the way not only to themselves but also to other people. To be able to see the world differently, more colorfully.

To pause in the hectic times and think more deeply about a certain issue that I, as an artist, want to communicate to the world.

What would it be if you could change one thing about the art world?

I wouldn't change anything. It is a unique and original product of each artist. His way of expressing himself resonates with his own essence. And he converts that message in artistic form to the world. His idea, his creation, his hope of being seen and heard.

What are your most significant professional achievements?

I have been in the art scene for a very short time, so I dare not list my professional achievements here.

For me, a great achievement is to create bilingual poetry on a certain theme and to connect an image with an idea.

It's a feeling on the other that doesn't just leave you standing, it makes you think.

My achievement is converting a message not only with images, but also with words.

What do you wish to tell viewers about your work that might not come out explicitly? What do you hope to inspire with your artwork?

For me it is very important to be in harmony with my surroundings, to be calm and happy. Music is my ally. When I listen to it I am attuned to the melody, I feel its energy and then I transfer it to the canvas. I usually let myself get carried away by the music. I choose the colors intuitively. Most of the time I apply the paint on the canvas and together with spatulas and brushes I create the painting.

The forest is my great inspiration, it is where I find my inner peace. This is where my inspiration awakes, I feel a connection with nature and if I ask, I get answers. Here I create poetry, here I find inspiration. Meditational music can also connect me to my inspiration, this is where I come for ideas and thoughts. This is where I create virtual images that I then transfer on a white canvas. I am motivated and driven by various art competitions and challenges. I like to create a certain theme that makes me think, go into the depth of things. To be able to explore my feelings, to create ideas and to connect painting with words.

Abstract work allows viewers to penetrate the depths of the artist's soul. One could say that they almost see the invisible. But it can also be an insight into the viewer himself, something that catches his attention. This is the main purpose, to captivate the viewer with the image on the canvas, but also to show him another image, the inner one. And of course everyone perceives one abstract work in his own way.

What advice would you give to the upcoming generation of artists?

Try to go your own way. Find it, you won't get lost. Don't be discouraged and follow your expression.

Tell the world your own colorful stories and shape a new way of seeing the world.

In what direction would you like to see your career go in the next five years?

To continue with the same enthusiasm as before. To keep discovering new and uncharted frontiers of my inner world, because they are endless. To show an even more colorful inner world and to caress the hearts of all art lovers with words.
