Danny Johananoff

Danny Johananoff

Biography

Danny Johananoff resides in New York and has been photographing for over 55 years. Known mainly for his blurred and abstract style, he has exhibited his work in NY, Miami, Rome, Milan, Tokyo, Shanghai and Hong Kong. He travels around the world, in search of different cultures, opening his lens for moments that fascinate him. When embarking on a photo expedition, Danny does not know what he may be photographing, but leaves his mind and soul open to receive whatever beckons him in.

He refers to his signature style as “painting” with the camera, using slow shutter speed and camera movement. The painting-like images rarely show a clear face or sharp figure. Distinguished by this signature technique, he captures both movement and color in a way that evokes emotion and connection to the subject. Thus, interpretation of the piece is left to the observer’s imagination.  Photos are basically created in the camera, while shooting, with no post editing for this effect.

Danny started exhibiting in 2018. Since then, his unique style has gained great momentum in the art community.
With all his work, he seeks to convey a narrative otherwise untold, and relay it through the lens in a compelling way.
His art is sold worldwide through exhibitions, fairs, books and magazines.
