When I make art, I find myself in a sacred space of selflessness, timelessness and effortlessness. I am open to any abundance of information that wants to be shaped by me as an artisan.

What’s your background?
I was born in 1977 in Salzburg, Austria. I create paintings, drawings, sculptures, and artworks in mixed media techniques. As a contemporary commissioned artist, I work in a variety of techniques to meet the needs of my clients and their favourite media.
My style is highly dynamic, thereby exploring ambiguity and creation itself through repetition and variation. Colour and form, background and motif, line and point, coldness, and warmth, and last but not least, provocation and harmony merge in my works to create something unique.
What does it mean to you to win the Collectors Art Prize?
To win a prize for the thing you love to do is an appreciation at the highest level. Such an honour is hard to describe with words.
What do you think is the role of art in the world today?
To me, all forms of art are influential and of great importance.
What would it be if you could change one thing about the art world?
I would include a subject called “intuition and the subconscious” in primary school. The artistic aspect of the subconscious often develops a significant instinctive and highly emotional power, that is much stronger than conscious thoughts. The sooner this is internalized, the better.
What are your most significant professional achievements?
I define professional achievement as the moment when the finished artwork is handed over to a perfectly satisfied customer.
What do you wish to tell viewers about your work that might not come out explicitly? What do you hope to inspire with your artwork?
My series are always connected to music. In this case it is the world peace mantra „OM MANI PADME HUM“ from Moritz Schneider, that I listened to for hours while working.
Speaking of the works that received this prize, it was clear from the start that I wanted to include materials from the construction industry. The pictures are commissioned works for a team of architectural planners and master builders (ks-bta.at).
One of the 2 meter long art objects was digitalized and mounted on a 7 meter long
exterior facade with a backlit 3D logo.
I used charcoal, cement, adhesive gypsum plaster, Swamp lime, Lime casein and marble dust as well as chalk. The materials were used dry or solved in water. Lines were spared to create forms and bitumen was tamed. There are about eight layers on top of each other that flooded the paintings surface and were partly removed again. Various binders hold all the different materials in place. In this process the most colour intensive pigments always find their way back to the surface.
What advice would you give to the upcoming generation of artists?
Try to cross the border between fine and applied arts whenever possible!
In what direction would you like to see your career go in the next five years?
One of the most powerful astrologers of our time, Silke Schaefer, recently said that the future of the world is digital and that everything that can be digitalized will be done so. I will rise to this challenge as well.
