What’s your background?
I am a Spanish painter born in San Sebastián de la Gomera. My development at a professional level was in Vienna, Austria due to the limitations of the Island.
What does it mean to you to win the Collectors Art Prize?
For me it means recognition of my artistic career, recognized by art curators internationally.
What do you think is the role of art in the world today?
Promote human principles and values as a fundamental element of our coexistence. Respect for our environment, care for nature, combat corruption and make a better world.
What would it be if you could change one thing about the art world?
The world of art has to be dynamic, it cannot remain stagnant. New artists who reveal today's society in their works must be given prominence.
What are your most significant professional achievements?
For me all my achievements count and have the same importance because one leads to the other.
What do you wish to tell viewers about your work that might not come out explicitly? What do you hope to inspire with your artwork?
I would like my works to be felt and not analyzed as something theoretical. My works of art are inspired by the current moment, in the space and time in which I have had to live.
What advice would you give to the upcoming generation of artists?
Work hard and be themselves, take advantage of the opportunities that life gives them and fight for a better world.
In what direction would you like to see your career go in the next five years?
I would like to be able to reach every home on the planet so that they can appreciate my works.
