Artist Statement
My work has a marked personal seal of identity that I apply in a free way and without limitations. I use my creativity to be different and look for new artistic proposals that surprise and excite.
My good imagination has been and is fundamental to develop creative, novel works that interact positively with the observer's eyes. My training, among others, as a Project and Organization Engineer, makes me work in an orderly, methodical way, studying the best alternatives, supervising good execution, introducing scientific topics, balancing the composition and making the painting a walkable space for the viewer. As a result, images are produced with elaborate precision work, with impressive density and depth that visually captivate. Art professionals have cataloged my work as; of unique creativity and extraordinary aesthetics.
I prefer to work in large format. For me, the artist's work is the embodiment of his inner self in a tangible form.
Therefore, my works are not intended to be mere decorative objects, but a skillful source of provocation that encourages the viewer to participate, and at the same time, to become a creative artist during the course of his journey around the stage and for the duration of the images recorded on his retina.
What’s your background?
With reference to my geographical location and emphasizing the importance of the most universal novel such as Don Quixote de la Mancha, I feel proud to have been born in the lands where Don Miguel de Cervantes Saavedra placed this novel of chivalry that represents the first modern novel. and masterpiece of Spanish literature.
Regarding the origin of my artistic activity, it has been a most natural incorporation, since since my childhood I have lived in a family environment immersed in the world of art. The experiences acquired in the multiple activities in which I have participated; in the world of sports, music, engineering and inventions, have fed my brain with heterogeneous experiences that have consolidated my work in the world of art, developing my artistic proposal through a very personal style that I have called Rivismo.
What does it mean to you to win the Collectors Art Prize?
To get into this topic, it is convenient to introduce the role of the Collector. Apart from being an art buyer, he is a professional who reflects deeply on the meaning of art, taking into account aspects such as: The dialogue that the piece has with others in the collection. The trajectory and evolution of the artist. Recruitment of new artists. And in the field of investment; how to increase the economic and aesthetic value of his collection.
Collectors carry out the best promotion of the artists' works. They help to give prestige to the artist and motivate the curiosity of other collectors or potential buyers. They are essential for art to flourish and grow. They gather a large number of works, so that they can later be observed and appreciated in public exhibitions. Together with the artists, they are the ones who enrich our spirit and make our imagination fly.
All these concepts, among others, are what motivate any artist to receive an award in which collectors participate.
Answering the question, the Collectors Art Prize constitutes an exceptional bridge between the collected art, the artist and art lovers. It is a path of motivation so that the artist can feel more secure when it comes to creating and continuing to evolve.
What do you think is the role of art in the world today?
If we focus on the creation of an artist, we see that it not only conveys emotions, but also subtle messages that invite us to reflect on our own existence, social and political problems, or life in general. From this perspective, art plays a mediating role and a great engine of communication that becomes an effective tool that can influence to change or educate society. As a tool at the service of human beings, it plays a key role in building a fairer and more supportive world. Art, too, can be a fantastic therapy for human beings. It is capable of bringing happiness, peace, hope, love, knowledge, and for that, it is only necessary; listen to music if I'm depressed, see a play if I want to laugh, see a movie that makes me think, dream or have fun, learn to know the past or contemplate works of art to appreciate beauty.
Since art is expressed in a universal and understandable language for any human being, the inclusion of important issues that affect society and possible solutions and complaints are easily incorporated into the various artistic manifestations.
Like any citizen who seeks progress and the social welfare of humanity, art must help and denounce those problems that politicians or media groups, for their own interests, are not interested in solving.
What would it be if you could change one thing about the art world?
There are two structural issues that affect the art environment; the interference of politicians with their interests and the lack of programmed aid that benefits events and, above all, artists who present a promising future but who lack resources.
Regarding the first issue, I have to denounce, with great sadness, that in my country, the Minister of Culture only has secondary studies, he enrolled in the University, but he spent five years in the first year, exhausted the calls and was expelled. Also, he doesn't have any experience in the world of arts. He is, exclusively, a puppet of his populist government. It is very difficult for a person like this to leave his skin working intensely for the interests of all the actors involved in the world of the arts. His ideology is favoring his own even though they are a minority. Politicians should be removed from the management of culture. The Ministry of Culture should be run by a team of accomplished independent professionals and who are totally apolitical
With respect to the second topic, I want to present a way to help art in general and that is about the inclusion of sponsors, also in exhibitions, fairs, books and art magazines.
Due to my experience in the world of tennis, I have been a member of the organizing committees of various events: Davis Cup, Federation Cup, etc. These sports championships entail many expenses: player accommodation, travel, hostesses, individualized transportation, maintenance, refereeing, maintenance personnel, prizes, etc.
In these cases, players do not have to pay these fees when they sign up, nor do they have to give a percentage of their prize money to the organization. If it were so; Federer, Nadal, Djokovic, Carlos Alcaraz, Serena Willians, Iga Swiatek, Garbiñe Muguruza, etc., would not participate under these conditions. The solution, the sponsors. The organizing clubs are given the option of looking for sponsoring companies that take care of these expenses and may have income from the sale of tickets, exhibition spaces, television rights, etc. One of my functions in this activity was to get money from the sponsors and with work and enthusiasm it was achieved.
This form of financing can be applicable to the world of art and especially to the world of exhibitions. Until now, the artist has to pay for the space that he uses in the exhibition, the shipping and customs costs, and in addition, he has to pay a high percentage of his possible sales. By applying all these expenses together with the taxes, the artist, if he sells, keeps a minimum amount that he does not compensate. In this way, artists who have enough money will be able to participate in all events, regardless of whether their works may be the best exhibited. Emerging artists with a great future, but with few resources, they barely have the chance to make their work and creativity known. In these cases without sponsorship, the organizers are the ones who win. They always have their expenses covered. His business is supported by artists.
The inclusion of sponsors in these events would ensure that the best and most promising artists, who would be strictly selected, could participate. Under these conditions, art would improve in all respects. Artists would focus exclusively on working and creating their best creative works.
With this form of financing, there would be higher quality exhibitions, better art books and magazines and, in parallel, better qualities, also, in the performing arts. In short, artists in this state of tranquility would give their full potential to the art world.
What are your most significant professional achievements?
Throughout my life I have achieved important achievements; those achieved in my school studies, as an Industrial Engineer, as an Inventor with several patents, as a European Diploma in Strategic Planning, Designer, as Creator and singer of a musical album about tennis, as a National Tennis Coach, as Director of Sports Centers, as member of the Davis Cup and Fed Cup Organizing Committees, and most importantly, as my parents' caregiver for several years, until the end of their days.
Regarding my activity in the world of art, highlight my individual and group exhibitions, and Fairs, in several countries; Spain, China, South Korea, Italy, France, Denmark, the United States, among others. In addition, there are my works in the collection of Museums in Spain, Denmark and South Korea. My works are being highly valued, with which I have been invited to participate in exhibitions, interviews, magazines and a multitude of art books.

As a very gratifying reward, I have received many prestigious international awards. Among some of them; Leonardo da Vinci Award, Frida Kahlo International Award, New York City Award, David Michelangelo Award, Emerald ARTYA Award, Art Ambassador Award, Power of Creativity Award, Paris International Award, American Art Awards, Art for Peace Award, Collectors Art Award, Faces for Peace Award, Pegasus International Award for the Arts, etc. For me, any of these publications and awards have been an achievement and an immense stimulus to excel to continue with the engine running.
What do you wish to tell viewers about your work that might not come out explicitly? What do you hope to inspire with your artwork?
The size of my works is specially designed so that the viewer visually walks through the stage represented. The use of many elements, including various materials, devices, scientific formulas and other accessories, allow the author to build stories that can be considered real or imaginary and that the viewer can understand or simply be the basis for building his story own story.
For this reason, I advise viewers to analyze the work part by part and they will discover multiple stories. Each area analyzed can constitute a work in itself and lend itself to being interpreted to the observer's liking. In this way, the imagination and adaptation to the history of the person analyzing the work can provoke him; emotions, tranquility, memories, laughter and the desire to participate as a scriptwriter to even create other stories.
With my works I intend to interact with the spectators and provoke them on stage with the best weapons as they are; ingenuity, creativity, surprise and, above all, novelty in terms of the freshness that contemporary art needs. With this base of performances, I intend to encourage lovers and artists to develop their work in an autonomous and personal way. And that the necessary techniques in their learning constitute, exclusively, the tool to develop their personal identity stamp that makes them different.
What advice would you give to the upcoming generation of artists?
In my case, I have been lucky to be surrounded by art since my youth. Several generations of my family have worked in this world and, with the experiences lived in that period, which I have complemented with my activities in multiple professions, I have managed to store enough information in my brain to develop a personal and different style called Rivismo.
Based on this experience, and although I don't like to give advice, I would invite the artists of the next generation to develop different activities and absorb their experiences. Insisting on what I have narrated in the previous question, with the help of an essential technical base, all that remains is to develop a work that constitutes his personal stamp and, logically, without imitating anyone and achieving unique and clearly differentiated works.
In what direction would you like to see your career go in the next five years?
The technique and style that I apply to my work have the peculiarity that they can help to create very diverse works. The experiential material elements that I use, as well as the non-material ones, such as they can be; concepts, scientific expressions and other elements that are based on the theory and philosophy of Rivismo, guarantee a development of imagination, creativity and novelty. All this, reinforced by the application of new technologies and research, will lead me to improve my work day by day. as a consequence, to contribute positively to the improvement of contemporary art.
I will continue to participate in a selected way in; exhibitions, awards, books, magazines and interviews. However, one of my objectives is to exhibit my works in the best art centers and, above all, to offer my works to the best Contemporary Art Museums in the world, which would be the best critics of my works and, therefore, the greater incentive to improve and feed my creative qualities.
